Abstract: A seismic imaging apparatus (Fig. 1) and method for evaluating a reservoir. The invention includes a plurality of sensors (14) disposed in a well borehole (104) either permanently cemented in place or retrievably disposed using a series of clamps (118) to attach the sensors to the borehole wall. Each sensor uses one or more forced balanced controlled accelerometers to detect acoustic energy in the formation.
