Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capture seismic data remotely and at the same time execute remote monitoring by dividing a communication channel into M frequency bands and at the same time dividing each frequency band into N+1 time slots. SOLUTION: A communication channel 300 of an earthquake-capturing system is divided into M frequency slots and N time intervals. More specifically, the communication channel 300 is divided by combining time sharing and frequency sharing. While the earthquake-capturing system is operating, a first sensor transmits data according to a slot number 1 using the communication channel 300, and a second sensor transmits data according to a slot number 2. This sort of transmission is repeated successively and a sensor N transmits data by a time slot M. An opposite link slot is preferably used for transmitting timing and control information to all sensors. When a data rate becomes faster or slower, a plurality of time slots are captured as needed to support throughput requirements.
