Abstract: A contact lens, e.g., of the scleral type, having user-controllable colour changing. An electro-optical structure including at least one layer of a bistable electro-optical absorbent material, which, under the effect of the application of an electric field, can pass from at least one first stable state to at least one second stable state having different colorimetric absorption properties, and vice versa under the effect of the application of an electric field of opposite polarity. This change in state of the material leading to an alteration to the visible colour of the contact lens. The electro-optical structure extending in an annular region intended to cover the iris at least partially while leaving a central zone clear. An electronic circuit encapsulated in the lens and configured to subject the material to an electric field causing the change in state thereof in response to receiving a corresponding control signal.

The contact lens includes:—a membrane suitable for covering the pupil and the iris of the eye;—at least two light sources encapsulated in the membrane, each suitable for emitting a light beam whose divergence is controlled in relation to the axis of the lens;—at least one interface for collecting and supplying electrical energy to the light sources, from outside the lens;—at least one electronic circuit suitable for activating the sources from the interface.

Abstract: A scleral lens that includes a cover part suitable for covering the pupil, the iris and, at least partially, the sclera of an eye of an individual. The cover part includes a transparent central portion. At least one electronic component is encapsulated in a portion of the cover part. A lens in which the form and/or the dimensions of the cover part are configured, at least locally, as a function of the arrangement of the electronic component or components and, if appropriate, of the non-axis symmetrical form of the eye, such that the pupil is totally visible through the transparent central portion of the cover part, when the lens is worn by the eye.

Abstract: An optical system for detecting and tracking the eye movements of an individual. The system includes a frame, intended to be worn on the face of the individual, that includes a plurality of illumination sources. The system includes at least one contact lens, intended to be worn by an eye of the individual facing the frame, in which are encapsulated: an autonomous integrated circuit, a plurality of photoreceptors and a wireless communication transmitter. Variation in a signal (e.g., voltage or current) delivered by the photoreceptors allows not only the closure of the eyelid but also eye movements to be detected.
