Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the touch screen having a high resolution, that is, high definition resolution at a comparatively low cost. SOLUTION: In one embodiment, electrodes 102 are directly arranged on a surface of a CRT screen without the need for any electrode arranged to a back side. The touch screen 104 includes a conductive coating and a protective coating desired to be provided by one vacuum chamber process. A high gain system including a high frequency sampling band pass filter provides discrimination of a desired signal from noise. In order to convert an electric signal obtained from the screen into data representing a contact position on the screen, the screen calibration means is used to attain linearization.
