Abstract: In some examples, a system includes a primary side with a charger and a first battery and a secondary side with a second battery. The charger on the primary side can charge both the first battery and the second battery. A hinge resistance is between the primary side and the secondary side. The primary side includes a feedback controlled active device in a current path of the first battery that compensates for the hinge resistance, for connector resistances, or for battery impedances in a current path of the second battery.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for managing power delivery to multiple universal serial bus (USB) type-C ports of a desktop computer system. In an example, a method can include providing a first power level to a USB power delivery controller during a non-sleep mode operation of the desktop computer, and providing a second power level to the USB power delivery controller when the computer is in a sleep mode, the second power level configured to provide default charge power to a connected device when the computer is in the sleep mode.

Abstract: A first printed circuit board (PCB) comprises a first hardware interface, compatible with an interface standard, to couple the first PCB to a first socket of a second PCB, which further comprises a second socket, and first and second busses respectively coupled to the first and second sockets. The first PCB comprises a second hardware interface to communicate a first signal, to indicate a total current drawn by multiple PCBs, and a second signal each with a third PCB while the third PCB is coupled to the second PCB at the second socket. The first PCB comprises circuitry to impose a limit on power consumption by the first PCB, circuitry to generate, with the third PCB, the first signal, and circuitry to generate a second signal, which is to provide, for each of the multiple PCBs, an indication of whether respective circuitry of the PCB is to be throttled.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure may relate to forming a metal shield around a molded ferrite inductor to reduce the electromagnetic energy radiated by the inductor during operation. The metal shield allows an inductor to be placed on a PCB with multiple signal routing layers below and close to the inductor, as well as micro strips on the surface of the PCB close to the inductor, to reliably route signals during operation. Abstract: A battery charger for charging a battery with voltage from an input supply and method for using are disclosed. The battery charger may comprise a power path (e.g., one or more circuit stages, a step down stage, a step up stage, etc.) to drive the battery during a pulse charging sequence in a first mode and to reverse power flow from the battery when operating in a boost mode during the pulse charging sequence. An energy storage component may be coupled to the power path to capture pulse discharge energy during the pulse charging sequence when the circuit stage is operating in the boost mode.
