Abstract: A method for making a compound of formula (V): is provided. The method comprises converting a compound of formula (III): to the compound of formula (V), wherein A is a C6-C10 alkene group having at least one carbon-carbon double bond, B is a C6-C10 alkyl chain; and R1 is an alkyl group, and R3 is an oxygenated functional group.
