Abstract: A surface fiber treatment, carpets, carpet tiles, rugs and flooring systems prepared with the treatment and a method for applying the treatment for various purposes including pest control are provided. Pesticides such as diatomaceous earth, borax, and silicon dioxide are applied to a carpet backing in a manner that preserves fiber softness.
