Abstract: Un proceso para la fabricación de un ácido carboxílico aromático que comprende la puesta en contacto en presencia de un catalizador, en un reactor del flujo continuo, de uno o más precursores del ácido carboxílico aromático con un oxidante, donde la puesta en contacto entre dicho precursor y el oxidante se lleva a cabo en un disolvente acuoso que contiene agua en condiciones supercríticas o cercanas a las supercríticas cerca del punto supercrítico de tal forma que dicho uno o más precursores, el oxidante y el disolvente acuoso constituyan sustancialmente una única fase homogénea en la zona de reacción, donde la puesta en contacto de al menos un componente de dicho precursor con el oxidante es simultánea a la puesta en contacto del catalizador dicho con al menos parte de dicho oxidante.
