Abstract: A caddy (31) for adapting a mini-cartridge (30) for use in a full-sized disk drive (25). The mini-cartridge (30) is designed for use in a mini disk drive (20), which has dimensions and other characteristics different from a full-size disk drive (25). The caddy (31) provides a mechanism (81) for translating the size of the mini-cartridge (30) to a size suitable for use in the full-size drive (25). Additionally, the caddy (31) provides a mechanism (72, 74, 76) for translating rotational power from the full-size disk drive (25) to the mini-cartridge (30) such that a magnetic medium (29) contained in the mini-cartridge (30) rotates properly during use in the full-size disk drive (25).
