Abstract: Hearing protection and communication apparatus using vibration sensors are disclosed. An example wearable electronic device includes means for transducing vibrations associated with speech into a first signal; means for transducing sound associated with ambient noise into a second signal; and means for processing to cause a speaker to output a signal to reduce the ambient noise; detect an identifier in the speech; and cause audio data representative of the speech to be transmitted to a second device associated with the identifier.

Abstract: An example apparatus for generating dialogue includes an audio receiver to receive audio data including speech. The apparatus also includes a verification score generator to generate a verification score based on the audio data. The apparatus further includes a user detector to detect that the verification score exceeds a lower threshold but does not exceed a higher threshold. The apparatus includes a dialogue generator to generate dialogue to solicit additional audio data to be used to generate an updated verification score in response to detecting that the verification score exceeds a lower threshold but does not exceed a higher threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for audio noise reduction from a drone are disclosed. An example apparatus includes an acoustic sensor to gather acoustic data and at least one rotational motion sensor to gather rotational motion data of a first rotor and second rotational motion data of a second rotor. The example apparatus also includes an analyzer to identify a first filter that matches the first rotational motion data and identify a second filter that matches the second rotational motion data. The analyzer also is to filter the acoustic data into filtered acoustic data with the first identified filter and the second identified filter and generate an audio signal based on the filtered acoustic data.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and computer readable medium for using an audio trigger for surveillance in a security system. The method including receiving an audio input stream via a microphone. Dividing the audio input stream into audio segments. Filtering high energy audio segments from the audio segments. If a high energy audio segment includes speech, then determining if the speech is recognized as the speech of users of the system. If the high energy audio segment does not include the speech, then classifying the high energy audio segment as an interesting sound or an uninteresting sound. Determining whether to turn video on based on classification of the high energy audio segment as the interesting sound, speech recognition of the speech as the speech of the users of the system, and contextual data.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and computer program product for a speaking aid. The system including network interface circuitry to receive speech input from a user. The speech input includes a partial sentence with a missing word or the partial sentence with a stuttered word. The system also includes a processor coupled to the network interface circuitry and one or more memory devices coupled to the processor. The one or more memory devices include instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the system to detect a stutter or pause in the speech input, predict the stuttered word or the missing word, present a predicted word from an n-best list to the user; and if a prompt is received from the user, present a next word from the n-best list until the user speaks a correct word to replace the stutter or the pause.

Abstract: An example apparatus for hearing protection and communication includes safety glasses including a vibration sensor to capture speech from a user. The apparatus also includes hearing protectors communicatively coupled to the safety glasses and one or more other devices. The hearing protectors are to reduce a volume of an ambient sound and play back captured speech from the one or more other devices. The apparatus also further includes a number of wireless communication elements to communicatively couple the safety glasses, the hearing protectors, and at least a second apparatus for hearing protection and communication.
