    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variation in the structure and mechanical characteristics of a metal tube in the circumferential direction when manufacturing a metal tube having an uneven pipe wall thickness in the circumferential direction.SOLUTION: When a metal tube with an uneven wall thickness in the circumferential direction is manufactured from a source metal tube having an even wall thickness in the circumferential direction, the source metal tube is heated entirely in the circumferential direction to a warm temperature region or a hot temperature region, and then, also heated partially at a specific portion in the circumferential direction. A diameter reduction rolling is then carried out after the temperature distribution is applied in the circumferential direction of the source metal tube.
