Una lámina de acero inoxidable caracterizada porque consiste de, en porcentaje en masa, 0.05% o menos de C, 2.0% o menos de Si, 1.0%. o menos de Mn, 0.003% o menos de S, 0.05% o menos de P, 25.0% a 35.0% de Cr, 0.05% a 0.30% de Ni, 3.0% a 10.0% de Al, 0.10% o menos de N, 0.02% o menos de Ti 0.02% o menos de Nb, 0.02% o menos de Ta, 0.005% a 0.20% de Zr, 0.02% o menos de Ce, 0.03% a 0.20% de REM que excluye Ce, 0.5% a 6.0% en total de por lo menos uno de Mo y W, 0.03% a 1.0% de Cu, y opcionalmente por lo menos uno de 0.01% a 0.20% de Hf, 10 a 300 ppm en masa de Ca, y 15 a 300 ppm en masa de Mg y el resto es Fe e impurezas incidentales.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel foil which exhibits excellent salt corrosion resistance, while having high strength and excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and a catalyst carrier for an exhaust gas cleaning device using the foil.SOLUTION: The stainless steel foil has a composition comprising, by mass, ≤0.05% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤1.0% Mn, ≤0.003% S, ≤0.05% P, 25.0 to 35.0% Cr, 0.05 to 0.30% Ni, 3.0 to 10.0% Al, ≤0.10% N, ≤0.02% Ti, ≤0.02% Nb, ≤0.02% Ta, 0.005 to 0.20% Zr, ≤0.02% Ce, 0.03 to 0.20% REM other than Ce, at least one selected from Mo and W by 0.5 to 6.0% in total, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless foil which is superior in oxidation resistance at high temperature and is hard to be diffusion-bonded, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The stainless foil hard to be diffusion-bonded has a composition comprising, by mass%, 0.05% or less C, 2.0% or less Si, 1.0% or less Mn, 13.0-30.0% Cr, 3.0-10.0% Al, 0.10% or less N, 0.02% or less Ti, 0.005-0.20% Zr, 0.03-0.20% REM, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities; has an oxide film with a film thickness of 30-200 nm on the surface, in which a film thickness of Al 2 O 3 occupies 50% or more of the total film thickness; and has a surface roughness Ra of 0.5-1.5 μm. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stainless steel foil suitable for an apparatus and a device of catalyst carrier and catalyst converter combustion gas exhaust system for purifying automobile exhaust gas, and upon brazing, hard to be diffusion-bonded at a non-intended part, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The stainless steel foil has a componential composition comprising, by mass, or, by mass ppm, ≤0.05% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤1.0% Mn, 13.0 to 30.0% Cr, 3.0 to 10.0% Al, ≤0.10% N, ≤0.02% Ti, 0.005 to 0.20% Zr and 0.03 to 0.20% rare earth metals, and if required, comprising one or more kinds selected from 0.01 to 0.20% Hf, 10 to 300 ppm Ca and 15 to 300 ppm Mg, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and whose surface is coated with an oxide film essentially consisting of alumina.
