Abstract: A speaker stand comprising a speaker support (2) for accommodating a speaker (15) and comprising a first coupling section (10). A base (1) is provided having a second coupling section (9). An axle (4) pivotably connects the first and second coupling sections (10, 9) for allowing the speaker support (2) to tilt relative to the base (1). The axle (4) is housed within the first and second coupling sections (10, 9). A washer (6) is located between the first and second coupling sections (10, 9) and comprises a washer formation which, when the speaker support is tilted, is engageable with a coupling formation provided on the first or second coupling sections (10, 9) to limiting the range of tilting movement.
