    Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, a plurality of signal lines, a plurality of terminals, a plurality of wiring lines, metal wiring, a second metal layer, a third metal layer. In a first wiring region, each wiring line is composed of the first metal layer and extends in a second direction intersecting with the first direction. In a second wiring region between the first wiring region and the terminals, the wiring lines include the wiring line composed of the first metal layer and the second metal layer and the wiring line composed of the third metal layer. The metal wiring is provided in a different layer from the first metal layer; and intersects with the wiring lines in the first wiring region and extends in the first direction when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the substrate.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes signal lines, and a signal line switching circuit connected to the signal lines. The signal line switching circuit includes a plural first lines each extending in a first direction and disposed at intervals in a second direction, a plural transistors apart from the first lines in the second direction and arranged in the first direction, each transistor including a gate electrode and a light shielding layer disposed to overlap with the gate electrode, and a plural second lines connecting the transistors to the first lines. The light shielding layer includes an extension part extending to an area where the first line does not exist, and is electrically connected to the gate electrode.

    Abstract: A display device according to an aspect of the present invention includes a plurality of sub illumination regions in which switching between a scattering state and a non-scattering state are independently controlled by applying a voltage to a liquid crystal layer. In the sub illumination region, first electrodes for applying the voltage to the liquid crystal layer are aligned, The first electrodes is divided into a plurality of groups in which every or a plurality of first electrodes are electrically connected each other. The sub illumination region includes divided sub illumination regions, in which the switching between the scattering state and the non-scattering state are independently controlled, corresponding to the groups.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a first translucent substrate; a second translucent substrate facing the first translucent substrate; a liquid crystal layer including polymer dispersed liquid crystal sealed between the first translucent substrate and the second translucent substrate; at least one light emitter facing at least one of a side surface of the first translucent substrate or a side surface of the second translucent substrate; and a display controller that controls a color of an image overlapping with a background viewed through the first translucent substrate and the second translucent substrate according to a color of the background.
