Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device in which a first light shielding film extending in a first direction and an image signal line are formed on a TFT substrate, the image signal line includes: in a region that does not overlap the first light shielding film, a first portion extending at a first angle with respect to a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; and, in a region that overlaps the first light shielding film, a second portion extending at a second angle with respect to the second direction, a third portion extending in the second direction, and a fourth portion extending at a fourth angle with respect to the second direction, and the second angle and the fourth angle are larger than the first angle.

Abstract: A technology that can make the touch detection results at corner portions proper is proposed. A display device includes a display panel, a sensor substrate formed on the display panel, and plural drive electrodes and plural detection electrodes extended in a direction so as to intersect with the plural drive electrodes on the sensor substrate. Among the plural drive electrodes, any of the lengths of N first drive electrodes (where N represents the number), which are continuously adjacent to one another, is shorter than any of the lengths of the other drive electrodes. An area where at least one drive electrode among the N first drive electrodes and at least one detection electrode overlap each other is larger than the area of an intersectional portion where any of the other drive electrodes and any of the other detection electrodes overlap each other.

Abstract: A display device is provided with a pixel and a dummy pixel including a gate line and a signal line. The dummy pixel includes the gate line and a dummy semiconductor layer crossing the gate line through an insulating layer. The dummy semiconductor layer is electrically separated from the dummy semiconductor layer of the dummy pixel adjacent in the Y direction dummy pixel. The dummy pixel further includes a dummy signal line extending in the Y direction. The dummy signal line is connected to the dummy semiconductor layer through a plurality of contact holes. Abstract: According to one embodiment, an optical sensor-equipped liquid crystal display device includes a display panel and a driver IC. The display panel includes a display area including pixels, a surrounding area surrounding the display area, peripheral circuits provided in the surrounding area, and an optical sensor outputting a detection signal in response to incident light. The peripheral circuit includes a shift register, and a gate switch group connected to the shift register and including a first gate switch and a second gate switch. The first gate switch is connected to a switching element for driving the pixel via a scanning line. The second gate switch is connected to a switching element included in a sensor circuit for driving the optical sensor via a scanning line for sensor.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device with an optical sensor includes a display panel and a driver IC. The display panel includes first to third signal lines, an optical sensor including a photoelectric conversion element, and a sensor signal line that is connected to the optical sensor and transmits a detection signal to the driver IC. One first wiring line drawn from one terminal of the driver IC is connected to four switching elements. Three of the four switching elements are electrically connected to one of the first to third signal lines, respectively. One of the four switching elements, different from the three switching elements, is electrically connected to the sensor signal line.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a panel unit and a driving unit driving the panel unit. The driving unit includes as operation modes a first mode in which a detection operation of a first external object is performed in units of a divided region obtained by dividing an entire surface of a touch region of the panel unit and a second mode in which a detection operation of a second external object is performed on the entire surface of the touch region of the panel unit. The first mode is a mode detecting, in units of the divided region of the panel unit, a contact position of the first external object with each divided region, and the second mode is a mode detecting, on the entire surface of the panel unit, whether or not the second external object approaches the entire surface.
