Abstract: Embodiments are generally directed to managing power consumption of powered devices. In some embodiments, the powered devices draw power from a common source of power, which is limited. Under certain circumstances, exceeding the power limits can cause interruption of power to one or more of the devices, thus introducing a source of communication failures. To ensure reliable communications, an attempt to increase a power consumption of a first powered device in a power group is first reviewed to determine if the increase will cause a supplied power of the group to exceed a maximum power of the group. If the increase will cause the maximum power to be exceeded, the increase is modified, in some circumstances, to fit within the maximum power level. Alternatively, power consumption of a lower priority device is reduced to accommodate the requested power consumption increase.

Abstract: A system includes a plurality of access point devices (APs) configured to provide a wireless network at a site, each of the plurality of APs having a known location, and a network management system comprising one or more processors and a memory comprising instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to: determine, based on a known location of a first AP of the plurality of APs, a known location of a second AP of the plurality of APs, and received signal strength measurements of wireless signals originating at one or more antennas of the first AP and received by one or more antennas of the second AP, an orientation angle of the second AP; and generate an output indicative of the orientation angle of the second AP.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for automatically resolving faults in a complex network system. Some embodiments monitor one or more of system operational parameter values and message exchanges between network components. A machine learning model detects a fault in the complex network system, and an action is selected based on a cause of the fault. After the action is applied to the complex network system, additional monitoring is performed to either determine the fault has been resolved or additional actions are to be applied to further resolve the fault.

Abstract: Embodiments provide for guided alignment of the orientation of two wireless devices. A first wireless device is at a known position and a known orientation. A signal from a second wireless device is received via a plurality of receive elements of the first wireless device. The first wireless device measures phase differences of the signal at the plurality of receive elements, and determines locations of each of the second wireless device's transmit elements based on the differences. Based on the transmit element locations, and a known antenna layout of the second wireless device, an orientation of the second wireless device is determined. Based on differences between the determined orientation and the known orientation of the first wireless device, instructions for aligning the devices are generated. Once the devices are aligned, location estimates of a third wireless device are made by both the first wireless device and the second wireless device.

Abstract: A network management system (NMS) is configured to control roaming in a wireless network using a variable mobility threshold. For a first wireless device associated with a current location, the NMS obtains at least one performance metric of a first wireless signal received by the first wireless device at the current location from a first AP of a plurality of APs, compares the at least one parameter of the first wireless signal to at least one performance metric of a second wireless signal received by at least one other wireless device at the current location from a second AP of the plurality of APs, and triggers a roaming operation of the first wireless device from the first AP to the second AP if the comparison satisfies a mobility threshold that varies based on the at least one performance metric of the first wireless signal.

Abstract: Techniques are described in which a network management system (NMS) is configured to determine a root cause of degraded network performance based on SLE metrics and the locations associated with network devices providing the SLE metrics. The NMS can determine service level experience (SLE) metrics associated with each client device on a network and location data for each client device of the plurality of client devices. The NMS can generate a time series of parameter vectors, where each parameter vector includes SLE metrics corresponding to each client device of the plurality of client devices. Each parameter vector is associated with the location of the client device corresponding to the SLE metrics. The NMS can determine, based on the time series of parameter vectors and associated locations, a root cause for a degradation in SLE metrics associated with the one or more of the client devices.
