A device for generating hydrogen peroxide includes an electrolytic cell, a pair of electrodes, and a circulation pipe. The electrolytic cell holds an electrolytic solution. The pair of electrodes is provided in the electrolytic cell and electrolyzes the electrolytic solution. The circulation pipe is connected to the electrolytic cell, and causes oxygen generated from the electrolytic solution that has been electrolyzed in the electrolytic cell to flow into the electrolytic cell.

According to one embodiment, an apparatus for measuring hydroxyl radicals that measures hydroxyl radicals produced by irradiating a liquid to be treated flowing through a channel in which an ultraviolet lamp is arranged with ultraviolet rays, the apparatus includes a diverting unit, a reagent adding unit, and a measuring unit. The diverting unit has a diverting channel that diverts the liquid to be treated before being irradiated with the ultraviolet rays from the channel and part of which is arranged at a position enabling the liquid to be treated within the channel to be irradiated with the ultraviolet rays. The reagent adding unit adds a hydroxyl radical measuring reagent to the diverted liquid to be treated. The measuring unit irradiates the diverted liquid to be treated with the ultraviolet rays and measures the amount of hydroxyl radicals produced based on a change in the hydroxyl radical measuring reagent between before and after the irradiation with the ultraviolet rays.

A liquid processing system has: processing units of n stages in which each processing unit includes one or a plurality of processing lines, each processing line includes an ultraviolet ray irradiating unit, and the number of processing lines of an m-th stage processing unit is larger than the number of processing lines of an m+1-th stage processing unit; and adjusting section which adjusts an output of an ultraviolet ray irradiating unit provided to a processing unit of a predetermined stage. An output of an ultraviolet ray irradiating unit provided to a processing unit of a stage other than the predetermined stage is each fixed, and the adjusting section adjusts the output of the let ray irradiating unit provided to the processing unit of the predetermined stage such that a liquid processed in an n-th stage processing unit of a final stage is in a desired processing state.

An ultraviolet (UV) irradiation apparatus according to an embodiment includes a treatment tank, a UV irradiation member, a UV sensor, and an air outlet unit. The treatment tank includes a water supply opening to supply therethrough treated water to be further treated and a water drainage opening to drain therethrough the treated water. The UV irradiation member is provided inside the treatment tank and irradiates treated water with UV light when the treated water passes through inside of the treatment tank. The UV sensor is provided inside the treatment tank and measures a dose of UV irradiation from the UV irradiation member. The air outlet unit is connected to an air outlet hole provided at a position higher than a horizontal plane that passes through the UV sensor, and is provided to release, to the outside of the treatment tank, through the air outlet hole, air that accumulates inside the treatment tank when the treated water passes through the inside of the treatment tank.

An ultraviolet water treatment device of an embodiment includes an ultraviolet irradiation tank. The ultraviolet irradiation tank includes a plurality of ultraviolet irradiation modules. The ultraviolet irradiation modules include a plurality of lines of ultraviolet irradiation pipes, a cleaning device and a cleaning device driving unit. The ultraviolet irradiation pipes include a plurality of lines of ultraviolet lamps and a plurality of lines of ultraviolet lamp protective pipes individually protecting the ultraviolet lamps. The cleaning device cleans a surface of each ultraviolet lamp protective pipe. Each ultraviolet irradiation module includes two or three ultraviolet irradiation pipes.

An UV-irradiation apparatus of an embodiment is provided with an irradiation unit, a measuring unit, a detecting unit, a calculator and a display. The irradiation unit irradiates treatment water as a treatment target with treating ultraviolet rays. The measuring unit measures ultraviolet ray intensity of ultraviolet rays transmitted through the treatment water. The detecting unit detects a deterioration of the irradiation unit in accordance with the ultraviolet ray intensity measured by the measuring unit. The calculator calculates the ultraviolet ray permeability of the treatment water, on the basis of the ultraviolet ray intensity of ultraviolet rays emitted from the irradiation unit depending on a preset setting value and the ultraviolet ray intensity measured by the measuring unit. The display displays the detection result of the deterioration of the irradiation unit by the detecting unit, and the ultraviolet ray permeability calculated by the calculator.

The sludge discharge unit, is connected to a discharge hole provided at a position lower than a horizontal plane passing through the UV sensor, and is provided to discharge, to outside of the treatment tank, through the discharge hole, sludge that accumulates inside the treatment tank when the treated water sasses through the inside of the treatment tank.
