Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled composition having light hairdressing feeling free from stickyness, comprising a specific cationic polymer as a main ingredient and a peptide having a specified molecular weight, decomposition product of hair, skin protein, etc. CONSTITUTION:0.1-5Wt% cyclic cationic group-containing polymer [e.g., diallyl guaternary ammonium homopolymer shown by the formula I (R1 and R2 are H or 1-18C alkyl; X is anion residue; n is 10,000-1,000,000) is blended with 0.1- 5wt% peptide having a molecular weight 300-10,000, to give a preshampoo type hair treatment composition. A cyclic-cation group-containing polymer in its weight ratio to peptide 10/1-1/50 to 1 is preferable.

When the above-mentioned composition is used as a hair set lotion or hair spray, the effect thereof is remarkable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hair-setting agent having sufficient hair-setting ability and giving flexible and tack-free hair, by compounding a polyoxyalkylene compound with a specific amount of an alpha-mono(methyl-branched alkyl)glyceryl ether. CONSTITUTION:1pt.wt. of a polyoxyalkylene compound such as the compound of preferably formula I (R1 is 1-22C alkyl; l is average molar number of added propylene oxide and is 10-100) or formula II (a+b=2-100) is compounded with 0.01-1.0pt.wt. of the compound of formula III (R is 12-24C methyl-branched saturated hydrocarbon group). The compound of formula III is especially preferably the compound wherein the group R is group of formula IV (m is integer of 2-14; n is integer of 3-11; m+n is integer of 9-21). The defects of polyoxyalkylene compound can be eliminated, the hair-setting power can be improved, and the tackiness can be decreased by the addition of the compound of formula III.

Abstract: PURPOSE:A hair setting agent that contains a macromolecular compound for setting hair and an adduct of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to a higher alcohol by specific amounts, thus showing high curl retention and giving good feel to the hair after setting. CONSTITUTION:The objective hair setting agent contains (A) a macromolecular compound that is conventionally used for hair setting (0.2-10.0, preferably 0.5- 3.0wt%), (B) an adduct of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to a higher alcohol of formulaI(R is 8-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon, preferably 12-18C alkyl; n is 10-50, preferably 20-40; m is 3-20, preferably 3-10) (0.05-1.0 times the weight of component A), preferably further (C) squalane of formula II (0.05-2.0 times the weight of component A). The resultant agent develops remarkable setting effect, when applied as a set lotion or hair spray.
