Abstract: An absorbent article 1 includes an absorbent body 3 and an outer cover 2. The outer cover 2 has a front section A, crotch section C, and a rear section B and includes an outer sheet 21, an inner sheet 22, and elastic members 23. The outer cover 2 has a below-waist gather formed of a composite stretch panel in its below-waist portion D. The composite stretch panel has the outer and inner sheets 21, 22 bonded at bonds discretely arranged in the stretch direction thereof and the direction perpendicular thereto. The elastic members 23 extend not to pass the bonds without being fixed to the outer and inner sheets 21, 22 at other than their both ends. The outer and inner sheets 21, 22 form folds continuously extending over a plurality of the elastic members 23. The waist portion F of the outer cover 2 has a lower extension percentage in its laterally middle part than in the other parts on both sides of the middle part.

Abstract: A softener composition comprises (a) 7 to 30 wt.% of a neutralization product with an inorganic or organic acid having not more than 6 carbon atoms of one selected from the group consisting of (a-1) an amine compound having 2 or 3 hydrocarbon groups each having 11 to 22 carbon atoms in its molecule and (a-2) an ion complex compound formed from 1 mole of a polyamine having a hydrocarbon group having 11 to 22 carbon atoms and 2 to 5 nitrogen atoms and 1 mole of an aliphatic acid having 12 to 22 carbon atoms and (b) 0.2 to 5 wt.% of one or more polyethers, each being an adduct of an alkylene oxide including ethylene oxide to a compound having 3 or more active hydrogens, which contains 50 wt.% or more of the polyoxyethylene units, having a molecular weight of 5,000 to 2,000,000. It is of the concentrated type and provides clothing with an improved softness and anti-static property.

Abstract: A shorts type disposable diaper is disclosed. The diaper has a plurality of body-surrounding elastic members provided at a body-surrounding portion which is located between a waist opening portion and a leg opening portion. The body-surrounding elastic members extend in the circumferential direction of the diaper. The body-surrounding elastic members are fixedly disposed in at least side portions which extend outward from longitudinal side edges of the absorbent core in a stretched state so as to manifest elastic contractibility, but are not disposed in at least the center of the portion where the absorbent core exists, or alternatively, are disposed in the portion where the absorbent core exists in such a manner that elastic contractibility does not manifest in at least the above center. The width of the absorbent core measured at the position where the body-surrounding elastic members are disposed is 30 to 60% of that of the diaper, and the width of parts of the body-surrounding elastic members which manifest contractibility is 40 to 95% of that of the diaper.
