Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner and a production method of the toner achieving both of good low-temperature fixability and chargeability and causing little toner scattering.SOLUTION: The production method of an electrophotographic toner includes steps of: adjusting a pH of an aqueous mixture liquid, which contains aggregated particles including resin particles (A) and release agent particles and an anionic surfactant having an average addition molar number of ethylene oxide of 5 to 100 and having a polyethylene glycol moiety, to 2.5 to 6.0 at 25°C; and after and/or while adjusting the pH, fusing the aggregated particles in the aqueous mixture liquid. The electrophotographic toner is obtained by the method.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polymer emulsion having excellent water resistance of coating film besides improved polymerization stability and emulsion particle diameters.SOLUTION: The method for producing a polymer emulsion includes carrying out emulsion polymerization of a vinyl-based monomer-containing monomer (A) using a reactive anionic surfactant (a) and a nonreactive anionic surfactant (b) having a critical micelle concentration (CMC) of ≤0.30 wt.% and comprises a process I for polymerizing the monomer (A) under the condition that the presence weight ratio [b/(a+b)] of the reactive anionic surfactant (a) and the nonreactive anionic surfactant (b) satisfies 0.40-1.00 and a process II for further adding the reactive anionic surfactant (a) and the monomer (A) to the reaction solution obtained by the process I and polymerizing the monomer (A). The weight ratio [b/(a+b)] of the total of the reactive anionic surfactant (a) and the total of the nonreactive anionic surfactant (b) used in the processes I and II is 0.01-0.30.

The polyoxyalkylenealkylphenol-formaldehyde condensate to be used has formula I (wherein R is 8-12C alkyl; R1 is 3-5C alkylene; each of m1, m2 and m3 >=0; each of x, n1, n2 and n3 >=1). It is important that the alkylphenol-formaldehyde condensate which is removed from the polyoxyalkylene chain in the chemical structure of the formula I, namely the portion of formula II has an MW of 1,400-2,800, otherwise the performance remarkably deteriorates.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a highly efficient oil-water separating agent having a specified HLB value, by adding ethylene oxide to a mixture of a fatty acid triglyceride and polyhydric alcohol. CONSTITUTION:0.1-5mol of a plyhydric alcohol, e.g. glycerol, butanetriol, pentanetriol, hexanetriol, sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol or dulcitol, is used for 1mol of a fatty acid triglyceride, while 2-100mol of ethylene oxide is used for 1mol of the sum of the fatty acid triglyceride and the polyhydric alcohol. The obtained oil-water separating agent is added, as such or diluted with an organic solvent, to a crude oil emulsion at a rate of 0.001-0.05wt% in general. The oil- water separating agent is effective for any kind of crude oil emulsion and facilitate oil-water separation remarkably.
