    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain pulp good in whiteness and an area-ratio of residual ink in good yield by putting disaggregated pulp obtained from waste paper and stripped ink into a liquid capable of separating into a phase having affinity to the ink and a phase having affinity to the pulp by standing. SOLUTION: This method for removing ink is to put disaggregated pulp obtained from waste paper as a raw material and stripped ink into immiscible liquids in standing, i.e., one to be a phase having affinity to the ink and the other to be a phase having affinity to the pulp, distribute respectively into the phase having affinity to the pulp and the phase having affinity to the ink at 5-80 deg.C and separate the disaggregated pulp and the stripped ink. Removal of the ink from newspapers, handbills, magazines, OA waste paper, etc., is effectively carried out and the ink-removed pump having high quality is obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform ink removal to high whiteness with reduced ink residue by carrying out at least a part of the floatation process in the presence of a combination of at least one selected from a specific cationic compound, an amine or its acid salt and an amphoteric compound with a specific organic acid or its ion. SOLUTION: At least a part of the floatation process is carried out in the presence of at least one selected from the group consisting of a cationic polymer with a nitrogen content of 0.01-35 wt.% and a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000-3,000,000, an amine or its acid salt and an amphoteric compound, and an organic acid represented by the formula: X1 -O-(AO)n -X2 (X1 is a 1-24C alkyl or alkenyl, H, CH2 COOH, SO3 H or PO3 H2 ; X2 is CH2 COOH, SO3 H, or PO3 H2 ; AO is a 2-4C alkylene oxide; (n) is a number of 1-500) or its ion and a nonionic surfactant at a pH of 4-12, thereby removing ink effectively.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate whiteness degree of an unknown specimen by a method wherein a fineness distribution of residual ink including residual ink of which average particle diameter is smaller than a specific value of that of a pulp or a paper, is obtained beforehand and a mutual relation contribution rate that each particle diameter number of the residual ink affects the whiteness degree, is obtained. SOLUTION: Only residual ink and colored particles are extracted from a fetched image and a diameter of a quasi-circle is calculated from the area and a fineness distribution of the residual ink and colored particles in a prescribed visual field area is obtained. The measurement is applied to ink scavenged pulp or pulp before ink scavenging treatment, for example, about 5-50 times, then the fineness distribution in a desired fineness range is obtained. The contribution rate with respect to an optical property of a particle diameter by each range of the particle size distribution is calculated in accordance with a linear processing. For example, particle size distributions of the residual ink of which diameters are smaller than 2μm and the ink of which diameters are not smaller than 2μm are obtained and the contribution rate of each particle diameter with respect to each optical property is calculated so that the optical property such as a whiteness degree and a darkness is evaluated only by measuring the particle size distribution of the residual ink.
