Abstract:
A magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic disc having a low friction coefficient and excellent durability comprises a substrate 1, an uneven layer 2a on the substrate and a metallic magnetic layer 4 on the uneven layer. The uneven layer comprises an alloy of Al and a first metal capable of forming a carbide eg Si, Cr. The substrate may be carbon. There may be a layer 3 comprising Cr disposed between the uneven layer and the metallic magnetic layer. In addition there may be a metallic layer, eg Ti, disposed between the uneven layer and the substrate.

A magnetic recording medium is disclosed, which contains a substrate, an uneven layer and a metallic magnetic layer provided on the substrate in that order, wherein the uneven layer is made of an Al-M (wherein M is a metal capable of forming a carbide) and has an uneven surface. This magnetic recording medium enables a magnetic head to float at a low height, and prevents the magnetic head from sticking to the magnetic recording medium. Further, the uneven layer has an excellent adhesivity to the substrate preventing it from peeling off the substrate, and thus a magnetic recording medium having an appropriate surface roughness and excellent durability is provided. This magnetic recording medium can cope with high density recordings.

Throat care agents whereby the secretion of the saliva is promoted and thus the secretion of mucin, which is a bactericidal component contained in the saliva, is largely promoted. As a result, the adhesion of pathogenic bacteria to the throat is inhibited and the bacteria are eliminated from the throat, thereby refreshing the throat. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid composition for oral cavities not only achieving an adhesion-preventing effect on tooth stain but also imparting a shine on teeth and maintaining the shine.SOLUTION: The liquid composition for oral cavities contains the following components (A), (B) and (C): (A) 0.05-2 mass% of a phytic acid or a salt thereof; (B) 0.5-3 mass% of pullulan; and (C) 80-98 mass% of water.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of screening a whitening agent or brightener capable of imparting luster by giving an excellent whitening effect to teeth. SOLUTION: By a method of screening a whitening agent for teeth or a brightener for teeth, solubility to low-crystalline hydroxyapatite having a half-value width of a (300) plane by X-ray diffraction of not less than 0.45°(A) and solubility to high-crystalline hydroxyapatite having a half-value width of a (300) plane by X-ray diffraction being smaller than that of the low-crystalline hydroxyapatite by not less than 0.1°(B) of a constituent to be examined are measured, and a constituent where the solubility to the low-crystalline hydroxyapatite (A) is at least 1.6 times larger than the solubility to the high-crystalline hydroxyapatite (B) is selected. SOLUTION: The composition for removing solid products formed on the surface of teeth contains 0.05-18 mass% of phytic acid or a salt thereof, contains no polyvalent cation or contains a polyvalent cation in an amount of less than 0.1-fold mole relative to the content of the phytic acid. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which corresponds also to endogenous discoloration wherein the color of dentin is discolored due to aging, an external wound or the like can be seen through enamel, and gives a beautiful bleaching effect to teeth. SOLUTION: The composition for reforming tooth enamel surface layer interprismatic spaces contains 0.05 to 18 mass% of phytic acid or its salt and has pH of 5.5 to 6.5, when diluted with water into concentration of 30 mass%. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create transfer images with fine vividness and fastness to friction by forming a heat melt ink layer provided on a base material with a compound expressed by a specific formula and a compound having a specific value of an endothermic amount caused by a glass transition point, a softening point and crystal fusion in a thermal transfer recording medium. SOLUTION: In a thermal transfer recording medium having a heat melting ink layer furnished on a base material, the heat melt ink layer is formed of matter having a compound A shown by formulas I-III and a compound B having a glass transition point of 30-100 deg.C, a softening point of 40-120 deg.C, and an endothermic amount of 10 cal/g or less caused by crystal fusion. In the formulas, R1 and R2 indicate a hydrogen atom. a halogen atom or the like, and 1-1,000 hydrocarbon group that can be substituted, and R3 -R9 each indicate a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or the like, or a 1-500C hydrocarbon group that can be substituted. In this constitution, a thermal transfer recording medium is obtained, which can produce transfer images with good gradation.
