    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the effect of bleaching and cleaning a hard surface by treating the surface with an aqueous solution of a specific organic peroxy acid under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A bleaching agent composition comprising H2O2 or a peroxide (e.g. sodium percarbonate) and an organic peroxy acid precursor which reacts with H2O2 to yield an organic peroxy acid of the formula (wherein R is a 1-5C alkyl or alkenyl group that may be substituted; R is a 1-8C alkylene group that may be substituted or a phenylene group that may be substituted by a 1-5C alkyl; A is a 2-4C alkylene group; and (n) is 0-100) (e.g. diester of 3,6-dioxaheptanoic acid with ethylene glycol) is used in two ways. One process comprises bringing a hard surface into contact with an aqueous solution of the bleaching agent composition having a pH of 7.5 or more, allowing the system to stand for 5-30min, reducing the pH of the solution to less than 7.5, allowing the system to stand for 5-60min, and rinsing the surface. Another process comprises allowing an aqueous solution of the bleaching agent composition having a pH of 7.5 or more to stand for 5-30min, reducing the pH to less than 7.5, bringing a hard surface into contact with the resulting solution for 5-6min, and rinsing the surface.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bleaching agent for toilet or piping, free from irritating odor and excellent in bleaching power by using a specified organic peracid as an active bleaching species. CONSTITUTION:A bleaching agent composition wherein the active bleaching species comprises an organic peracid of formula I, II or III wherein R is 1-5C alkl; AO is alkylene oxide; n is 0 to 20. The organic peracid can be used as it is for the composition. However, considering the storage stability of the peracid, it is more desirable that the peracid be formed during application of the composition; that is, it is desirable to jointly use hydrogen peroxide and an organic peracid precursor (bleaching activator) that reacts with hydrogen peroxide in a solution to form the organic peracid. As a peroxide that generates hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution, particularly sodium percarbonate, sodium perborate monohydrate, and sodium perborate tetrahydrate are prefer ably used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title composition easy to use and excellent in bleaching power by mixing hydrogen peroxide, a bleaching activator that is liquid at ordinary temperature, a water-soluble solvent, and water at a specified weight ratio and adjusting the pH to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:1-6wt.% hydrogen peroxide is mixed with 2-20wt.% bleaching activator that is liquid at ordinary temperature (e.g. a diester of 3,6-dioxa- heptanoic acid with ethylene glycol, or a diester of butoxyacetic acid with glycerin), 1-50wt.% water-soluble solvent (e.g. ethanol), and the balance of water. The pH of the mixture is adjusted to 8 to 11.5 with an alkaline agent (e.g. sodium carbonate) to give the title composition. This composition is suitably used particularly as a mildew remover. In addition, a surface active agent, a penetrant, a chelating agent, an abrasive, a perfume, etc., can be incorporated therein.
