The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting an aldehyde of formula II with morpholine to give an enamine of formula III, then, subjecting it and a vinyl ketone of formula IV to addition and intramolecular aldol reaction to give a cyclohexenone derivative and selectively reducing only the carbonyl group with a reducing agent (e.g. lithium aluminum hydride). The amount of the compound of formula I blended in a perfume composition is generally 0.1-90wt.%.
