    Abstract: A novel liquid detergent composition for clothing articles comprising the following ingredients (A)', (B-1) and (B-2): (A)' 0.01 to 5 wt% of a polymer in the form of a polymer latex having a cationic group or a tertiary amino group and having an average particle size (average in weight) of from 0.005 to 0.2 micrometers with a content of the polymer whose size is in the range of from 0.005 to 0.2 micrometers being not less than 95 wt% of the total of the polymer latex; (B-1) 10 to 50 wt% of a nonionic surface active agent; and (B-2) 0.01 to 10 wt% of an anionic surface active agent. The detergent composition has a good shrink resistance for felt.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a neutral liq. detergent which is excellent in the effect of preventing the shrinkage of felt of clothes, by mixing a neutral liq. detergent containing a polymer latex incorporated therein with a particular ethylene oxide adduct. CONSTITUTION:This detergent compsn. comprises 10-50wt.% polyethylene alkyl ether or polyethylene alkylphenyl ether (a), 0.1-3wt.% polymer (b) composed of a polymer latex contg. a cationic group or a tertiary amino group, and 0.5-5wt.% ethylene oxide adduct of polyethylene glycol or a polyhydric alcohol (c) having an average MW of 600-20,000. Component (a) is particularly pref. an ethylene oxide adduct wherein the number of moles of addition of ethylene oxide is 7-15. Component (b) is prepd. by, e.g., polymerizing a cationic or a tertiary amine monomer or copolymerizing the aforesaid monomer with other water-insuluble polymerizable monomer in a state of a microemulsion or a solubilized state.
