Abstract: A neutral liquid detergent composition is disclosed. The composition comprises: (a) 3-60% by weight of an alkyl glycoside, (b) 0.001-0.5% by weight of a higher alcohol having 8-14 carbon atom, and (c) 0.001-8% by weight of one or more water-soluble organic or inorganic salts, e.g. sulfate, chloride, borate, phosphate, p-toluensulfonate, m-xylenesulfonate, benzoate, malate, succinate, tartarate, citrate, lactate, or edate of sodium or potassium. The composition exhibits reduced irritation and damage to the hair or the skin, and high foaming capability. It imparts a favorable feeling upon use. After washing, the detergent components can easily be rinsed off leaving the least amount of water on the washed tableware.

It can be used as laundry detergents, dishwashing detergents, as well as detergents for use with household products, and hair and body. Further, a detergent composition comprising (e) a terpene type hydrocarbon and (f) 3-isothiazolone or its derivative in addition to the above components (a)-(d) is more valuable in practical use owing to preventing solution color and odor from being deteriorated during storage for a prolonged period of time.

Abstract: A neutral liquid detergent composition is disclosed. The composition comprises: (a) 2-60% by weight of an alkyl glycoside; (b) 0.1-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of less than 5; (c) 0.1-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of not less than 5; and (d) 0.001-8% by weight of one or more water-soluble organic or inorganic salts.
