Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft einen hartstoffbeschichteten Körper mit mehreren mittels CVD aufgetragenen Schichten, wobei die äußere Schicht aus Ti 1-x AI x N, Ti 1-x AI x C und/oder Ti 1-x Al x CN mit 0,65 ≤x ≤0,9, vorzugsweise 0,7 ≤x ≤0,9 besteht, und dass diese äußere Schicht Druckspannungen zwischen 100 und 1.100 MPa, vorzugsweise zwischen 400 und 800 MPa aufweist, und dass unter dieser äußeren Schicht eine TiCN- oder AI 2 O 3 -Schicht angeordnet ist.

Abstract: A coated cutting insert 10 for removing material from a workpiece is disclosed. The insert 10 a substrate 12 and a wear-resistant coating including an α-alumina layer 15 and a Zr- or Hf- carbonitride outer layer 16 deposited on the α-alumina layer 15. The Zr- or Hf- carbonitride outer layer 16 is subjected to a post-coat wet blasting treatment. The wet blasting changes the stress condition of the alumina coating layer 15 from an initial tensile stress condition to a compressive stress condition.
