Abstract: Embodiments include a water collection device (100) comprising one or more water sorbing materials including at least a first thermo-responsive polymer that sorbs water at temperatures above an upper critical solution temperature and desorbs water below the upper critical solution temperature. Embodiments further include a method of harvesting water comprising exposing one or more water sorbing materials to an environment, wherein the one or more water sorbing materials includes at least a first thermoresponsive polymer that sorbs water at temperatures above an upper critical solution temperature and desorbs water at temperatures below the upper critical solution temperature; and collecting water desorbed from the at least first thermo-responsive polymer.
