Abstract: A work machine includes a work device having a work tool and a movable support section configured to change an orientation of the work tool. A control system of the work machine includes a controller including a storage unit configured to store at least three types of target orientations including a first orientation. The controller is configured to select any one of the at least three types of target orientations based on a command signal for operating the orientation of the work tool and a detection signal indicating a current orientation of the work tool, and set the selected target orientation as a target orientation of the work tool to control the movable support section.
