Abstract:
A method and a system for entering a destination floor call, for storing the call data of a destination floor call entered by the user, for allocating an elevator car to the user on the basis of the landing call data of the destination floor call and for transmitting a car call to the elevator car when the elevator is arriving at the landing. In the method, the user inputs a destination floor call using a destination call device. The destination floor call can be stored in the memory of the destination call device, in which case the call data transmitted to the control system comprises only the landing call, i.e. information specifying the user's starting floor and whether the destination floor given by the user is in the upward or downward direction. The destination floor call can also be transmitted directly to the elevator control system, which stores the call data of the destination floor call in the memory of the control system. The control system allocates an elevator suited to the user's requirements on the basis of the landing call data of the destination floor call. When the elevator car allocated to the user arrives at the floor, the control system transmits the a car call to the elevator serving the user.

Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method and a system for the allocation of elevators on the basis of calls in an elevator system. The method produces for different route alternatives a cost function wherein the traveling time of each passenger is calculated. The calculation of the traveling time is performed taking into account the time spent while waiting for an elevator at a floor, the ride time in the elevator car, the delaying effect of active landing and car calls on the traveling time and the delaying effect of car calls given by new passengers entering at intermediate stops. The method is advantageous in the destination call system, but in the traditional up-down call system it is possible to utilize information provided by traffic statistics to predict the destination floor. Route alternatives can be created e.g. by using genetic algorithms. Once the route alternative giving the shortest average traveling time has been calculated, the elevators are controlled according to this route. In intensive traffic conditions, traveling time is optimized, and in quiet traffic conditions, passenger waiting time is optimized.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solution for allocating an elevator car in an elevator system. In the solution a destination call is received from a user and an elevator car is allocated to the user on the basis of the destination call received. The invention is characterized in that in conjunction with a destination call a categorization expression is received from the user, and in that the categorization expression given by the user is taken into account in allocating an elevator car.
Abstract:
According to an example embodiment there is provided a method for allocating an elevator in an elevator system. The method comprises constructing passenger batch size distributions for each pair of floors in a building based on passenger batch journeys, each passenger batch journey defining at least the origin and destination floor of the journey, the number of passengers relating to the journey and the time of the journey; receiving a call for an elevator; estimating the number of passengers waiting behind the call based on the passenger batch size distributions; and allocating the call to an elevator being able to serve the estimated number of passengers.
