Abstract:
A medical modeling system and method predict a risk of a physiological condition, such as mortality, for a patient. Measurements of a plurality of predictive variables for the patient are received. The plurality of predictive variables are predictive of the risk of the physiological condition. The risk of the physiological condition is calculated by applying the received measurements to at least one model modeling the risk of the physiological condition using the plurality of predictive variables. The at least one model includes at least one of a hidden Markov model and a logistic regression model. An indication of the risk of the physiological condition is output to a clinician.
Abstract:
A clinical decision support system (16) monitors one or more patients. The system (16) includes one or more processors (84) programmed to receive patient data for the patients. For each patient, one or more monitoring rules are selected from a plurality of monitoring rules based on patient data availability and/or patient context. A determination is made as to whether a patient is deteriorating using the selected monitoring rules for the patient. In response to determining the patient is deteriorating, an alert is generated.

Se describe un sistema (202) genera alarmas de pacientes utilizando un esquema de alarmas graduales. El sistema (202) incluye uno o más procesadores (220) programados para recibir calificaciones fisiológicas y/o valores de parámetros fisiológicos; comparar las calificaciones fisiológicas y/o los valores de parámetros fisiológicos con una pluralidad de niveles de alarmas; en respuesta a una calificación fisiológica y/o a un valor de parámetro fisiológico que se ubica dentro una zona no inhibida de los niveles de alarmas, emitir una alarma; y establecer un primer periodo de inhibición para el nivel de alarma no inhibido después de emitir la alarma.
