    Abstract: A noble method for coating the surface of a mica powder with silver to improve corrosion resistance and electromagnetic shielding efficiency of the mica powder is provided. A method for coating a mica powder with silver comprises the steps of: degreasing and etching a mica powder; sensitizing the degreased and etched mica powder; and adding the sensitized mica powder into a solution comprising a silver compound, a complex and a stabilizer, and injecting a reductant into the mixed solution within 5 minutes, and coating the mica powder with the solution. The mica powder can be replaced with a plastic powder or a ceramic powder. The complex is ammonia water. The stabilizer is at least one selected from the group consisting of ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium carbonate. The reductant is at least one selected from the group consisting of hydrazine monohydrate, formalin, glucose, ascorbic acid, sugar-alcohol, and borohydride.
