    Abstract: Disclosed is a system for providing an electronic program guide and a method of providing the same, the electronic program guide (EPG) being about a plurality of programs supplied through a digital broadcasting system, including the steps of receiving service information (10) transmitted from the digital broadcasting system, and extracting the EPG information (20) from the service information (10) to store the EPG information; analyzing a user's request (50) and extracting EPG information that meets the user's request from the stored EPG information to produce tailored EPG information; converting the tailored EPG information into speech EPG information (30); and reproducing the speech EPG information (30) as speech to provide users with the EPG information.
