    Abstract: Disclosed is a carrier management method in a carrier aggregation environment of a mobile communication system. A method for managing carrier status according to the present invention is configured to transmit a deactivation message for a subcarrier from a base station to a terminal, and change a subcarrier to a deactivated status when the deactivation message is transmitted after a predetermined amount of time elapses. The terminal receives the deactivation message transmitted and used by the base to change the subcarrier to the deactivated status when a predetermined amount of time elapses after the deactivation message is transmitted.
