Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and device for multilayer link management, which calculates a multilayer path only with a GMPLS control plane in a multilayer network environment and manages one integrated TE link on the GMPLS control plane to control switches of various layers.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for managing a multilevel link based on GMPLS(Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching) in a multilevel network are provided to perform the fast error detection and protection switching of a multilevel link by improving the error detection function of the multilevel link. CONSTITUTION: A multilevel link management apparatus(200) includes a control channel(210), a TE(Traffic Engineering) link stack(220), a packet transmission layer(230), and a light transmission layer(240). The control channel is used to exchange link management protocol information with an adjacent node. The packet transmission layer includes a PTL(Packet Transport Layer) TE link(231), a PTL link stack(232), and a PTL data link(233). The light transmission layer includes an OTL(Optical Transport Layer) TE link(241), an OTL link stack(242), and an OTL data link(243).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A packet processing method which improves Ethernet switch performance is provided to reduce the number of times a memory is accessed. CONSTITUTION: If an Ethernet packet does not include a tag or if a tag is not a VLAN(Virtual LAN) tag, information including default VLAN number is read from an L2 port table corresponding to the input port of the packet. Information required for a VLAN mapping function is read from a VLAN table(625). Port state information is read from the VLAN table with reference to a VLAN port table(630). The port state information is included when setting meta data according to the type of packet.
