PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell search system for a mobile station that can reduce a base station searching time by discriminating the presence of synchronization through a confirmation mode after searching a secondary synchronization code without setting a critical value by the system at searching of a base station by the mobile station. SOLUTION: The cell search system for a mobile station in a time division duplex system includes; a primary synchronization code search module for searching primary synchronization codes while searching frames to determine a position of the maximum value; a correlation module for estimating a phase value required to demodulate a sub synchronization code and acquiring a received signal and a first correlation value for a code configuring a secondary synchronization code; a secondary synchronization code search module for generating determinative variables and storing them based on the position of the maximum value; a comparison and decision module for detecting a maximum value of the determinative variables, comparing it with the values stored in the secondary synchronization code search module to count matching values, and comparing the count value with a system value to decide whether slot synchronization and group acquisition is successful; and a base station determination module for determining a second correlation value between midamble codes and the received signals, and selecting a maximum value of it to determine a base station. Disclosed are a method of constructing a wireless network in an OFDM system using a single carrier and a terminal employing an OFDM method. The terminal discriminates a wireless network using multiple carriers from a wireless network using a single carrier through a downlink preamble, and acquires frame synchronization within a short period of time. In addition, the terminal determines a position of a CCS used by a cell/sector to which the terminal belongs. Furthermore, the invention proposes a pilot allocation method that can be applied to a wireless network using a single carrier, which obtains frequency diversity effects while effectively using resources. In the case where a wireless network operator uses N channels in N divided FFT domains, the actual number of channels is MN.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for constructing a downlink frame in a mobile data communication system using an OFDMA method. To construct the downlink frame, a single preamble is arranged at the head of the downlink frame, and a plurality of data symbols are arranged following the preamble. Then, a plurality of pilot symbols are inserted between the data symbols over the downlink frame at a predetermined period. Accordingly, a channel variation can be rapidly tracked using the preamble and pilot symbols. Furthermore, interference between adjacent cells is minimized and averaged to make a frequency reuse rate be 1, such that arrangement of multiple cells can be easily designed.

Disclosed are a method for constructing a frame preamble in an OFDM wireless communication system, and a method for acquiring frame synchronization and searching cells using the preamble. The preamble is arranged at the beginning of a frame and constructed of a pattern repeated an integer number of times, and a CP. The pattern has a length shorter than a single OFDM symbol interval. The length of the repetitive pattern is not limited to an integer number of times a single OFDM symbol interval. Frame synchronization can be acquired by observing cross-correlation of a received signal and reference patterns and detecting the moment when the absolute value of the cross-correlation exceeds a predetermined threshold. Otherwise, frame synchronization can be acquired by observing auto-correlation of the received signal using repeated patterns included in the received signal and detecting the moment when the absolute value of the auto-correlation becomes the maximum value.

The present invention relates to a method for allocating a frequency domain spread code in a base station of a multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) communication system. A code allocation priority is established based on interference between previously allocated spread codes and a newly allocated spread code so as to minimize the interference caused by channel fading or a synchronization error according to a transmitting or receiving timing offset when a scheduler of the base station in the MC-CDMA communication system allocates a subcarrier group to the plurality of user terminals or channels, and the spread code is allocated to the plurality of user terminals or channels according to the established priority, by the scheduler of the base station.

Disclosed is a method for configuring an uplink frame in an OFDMA based wireless communication system. The total band of the uplink frame is divided into a predetermined number of subcarrier groups. Subcarriers within the respective allocated subcarrier groups are allocated to the subchannel defined for a predetermined number of consecutive symbols defined by slots in the uplink frame. Pilot subcarriers are allocated by the unit of the predetermined number of symbols so as to allow channel estimation from among the allocated subcarriers. Accordingly, data subcarriers are allocated by minimizing collision with specific users of adjacent cells so as to enable channel estimation using preambles in a cellular system, and some positions of the data subcarriers are allocated for pilots, thereby allowing synchronous demodulation and improving frequency reuse rates.

A device and method for estimating a carrier to interference-plus-noise ratio (CINR) in an OFDM system are provided. The CINR estimating method includes (a) receiving a preamble symbol and transmit subcarrier transmitted from a base station; (b) calculating an interference power and noise power using the preamble symbol and transmit subcarrier; (c) calculating a receive power used for the base station to transmit a preamble and data symbol; (d) estimating a preamble CINR value using an interference power, a noise power, and a receive power; (e) calculating the noise power from a subcarrier not transmitting a preamble; and (f) calculating an average CINR of data subcarriers using the preamble CINR value and the noise power. With such a method, a precise carrier to interference-plus-noise ratio (CINR) can be estimated using a preamble when the preamble power is amplified in comparison with the data symbol power, the subcarriers are differently applied for the respective cells, and the traffic of the data area is partially loading.

The present invention particularly relates to a method and an apparatus for improving the efficiency of data transmission in a multi-user wireless transmission system. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method, which is a transmission method of data in a multi-user wireless communication system, comprises the steps of: estimating channel states of each terminal through sounding or feedback information received from the terminals, and selecting terminals to which individual data are to be transmitted at the same time; determining a signal to noise ratio of the selected terminals, and calculating a precoding matrix; calculating a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of each terminal and the number of symbols of data fields in accordance with the MCS of each terminal; dividing an area according to the number of terminals to which the data fields are to be simultaneously transmitted, if there are two or more selected terminals; and recalculating a reception signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) for each area of each terminal, configuring a packet by resetting the MCS according to the recalculated SINR, and transmitting the configured packet.

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting control and training symbols to improve transmission efficiency in a multi-user wireless communication system. The method for transmitting the control and training symbols in the multi-user wireless communication system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: determining whether a required transmission rate of each data can be satisfied through channel estimation in each of terminals when different data are simultaneously transmitted to each of the terminals; and transmitting a data frame to each of the terminals, the data frame being composed to discriminate the control and training symbols in each of the terminals using a combination of time, frequency, and code area when the required transmission rate of each data is not satisfied according to the determined result.
