A method and apparatus of encoding and decoding an Extensible Markup Language (XML) document using a path code is provided. A method of encoding an XML document, the method including: searching the XML document for all element tags and all attributes including character data; extracting an XPath of each of the retrieved element tags and attributes; converting the extracted XPath into a predetermined path code; and expressing an occurrence indicator of each of all element tags included in the converted XPath.

Disclosed relates to an apparatus and method for storing content in a DMB system. The apparatus for storing content in DMB system includes an RF receiver to receive and demodulate broadcasting signals, an ensemble demultiplexer to extract Transport Streams (TSs) from the demodulated broadcasting signals, a TS demultiplexer to separately extract TSs including content and TSs including recording status information from the TSs extracted by the ensemble demultiplexer, a section processing unit to analyze the recording status information, a content storing unit to store the content, and a controlling unit to control storing of content for which recording is requested in the content storing unit through checking a start and an end of the recording-requested content in real time using the analyzed recording status information.

Provided are a data server, which is added to a digital broadcast emitting system to emit data broadcasting based on the Programming Metadata Communication Protocol (PMCP), a conventional international specification defined to secure inter-operability between devices of a digital broadcast emitting system; a metadata structure for securing inter-operability between devices of the conventional digital broadcast emitting system; a data stream generating device using the metadata structure; and a digital data broadcast emitting system and method thereof. The PMCP extended metadata of the present invention are formed to include channel type metadata which provide system information of a data event constituting a data broadcast program; and Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP) data event metadata which provide identification information, program guide, and encapsulation information of a data event.

Se proporciona un servidor de datos, que se agrega a un sistema de emision de transmision digital para emitir la transmision de datos con base en el Protocolo de la Comunicacion de los Metadatos de Programacion (PMCP), una especificacion internacional convencional definida para asegurar la inter-operabilidad entre los dispositivos de un sistema de emision de transmision digital, una estructura de metadatos para asegurar la inter-operabilidad entre los dispositivos de un sistema de emision de transmision digital convencional, un dispositivo para generar el flujo de datos usando la estructura de metadatos y un sistema de emision de transmision de datos digitales y el metodo de los mismos. Los metadatos extendidos PMCP de la presente invencion se forman para influir los metadatos de tipo canal que proporcionan informacion del sistema de un evento de datos que constituyen un programa de transmision de datos y los metadatos del evento de datos del Protocolo de Informacion del Sistema y Programa (PSIP) que proporcionan la informacion de identificacion, la guia del programa y la informacion de encapsulacion de un evento de datos.

Provided are a PMCP extended metadata for securing interoperability among devices constituting a digital data broadcasting emitting system, a data stream generating device using the same, a digital data broadcasting emitting system and a digital data broadcasting emitting method. The PMCP extended metadata includes: a channel metadata for providing system information of data events constituting a data broadcasting program; a program and system information protocol (PSIP) data event metadata for providing identification information and program guide of data events; and an advanced television system committee (ACAP) data service metadata for providing encoding information including signaling information and transmission protocol information of data broadcasting contents corresponding to data events.
