Abstract: PURPOSE: To generate a row of stable pulses having repeatability of several THz, by arranging gratings at unequal pitches in order for specified cycles severally, in each of plural pieces of sampling sections. CONSTITUTION: SSG-DBR is composed of five pieces of sampling sections, and has a refraction coefficient of valid phase of 3.28, and is made of InGaAsR. In each sampling section of SSG-DBR, gratings having pitches of 233.5 nm, 235 nm, 236.5 nm, 238 nm, and 239.5 nm are made to be arranged for twenty five cycles (5837.5 nm), five cycles (1175 nm), twenty five cycles (5912.5 nm), five cycles (1195 nm), and twenty five cycles (5987.5 nm) respectively. Hereby, in generation of the row of pulses in 1.55 μm having repeatability of 1THz class or over, the row of output pulses which are stabilized and highly averaged more than existing equal DBR structure can be generated.
