Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the power efficiency of terminal equipment by decreasing PAPR in a mobile communication system. SOLUTION: Concerning a modulator 100 for converting source data, which are contained in terminal equipment to utilize at least one channel, to a channel modulating signal having many pairs of in-phase and quadrature phase data, this modulator is provided with an encoder 110 for coding the source data for generating at least one data part and one control part, a code generator 120 for generating at least one spread code to be assigned to a channel and a spreader 130 for generating the channel modulating signal by spreading the control part and the data part by utilizing the spread code.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a network efficiency by allowing a base station to capture a code such as a preamble transmitted from a plurality of terminals through a reverse common channel from all available preamble signatures so as to reduce undesired data transmission and an interference signal. SOLUTION: A base station 200 captures a code such as a preamble transmitted from a plurality of terminals 100 through a reverse common channel from all available preamble signatures. The base station 200 transmits a capture display signal denoting an acquisition state of the preamble signatures sent from each terminal 100 through a forward common channel. Terminal 1st and 2nd decision sections 110, 160 of each terminal 100 decide whether the received acquisition state signal is user information data or re-transmission of the preamble with enhanced power. Thus, a proper power level is quickly approached and an excellent time delay characteristic is obtained.
