Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for modifying a surface of polymer, metal and ceramic which comprises irradiating ion particles with energy, from a predetermined distance (irradiation distance), on said surface, while blowing reactive gas or gases directly on said surface under vacuum condition, to decrease a wetting angle or to increase adhesive strength of the surface, and to polymers, metal or ceramic having surfaces modified by such process.
