Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an agricultural binding apparatus enabling stable sure binding free from lost string during binding operation by simply modifying a string-holding member made of a wire rod into that made of a board-shaped material and capable of performing binding in a state free from troubles caused by the newly attached string-holding member (resilient board). CONSTITUTION:This agricultural binding apparatus of knotter bill-type is provided with a knotting bill 10 for knotting string supplied from a needle and a string holding member 11 for holding the end of the knotting string and cutting it. In the agricultural binding apparatus, a cantilever ark-shaped resilient board 18 is attached on the basement of a hook 11c of the string-holding member 11 along the outer periphery of the hook. The shape of the board 18 is designed so that a new string (a) supplied from the needle by the rotation of the string-holding member 11 and an old string (a') already held by the string holding member 11 are resiliently held between the resilient board 18 and the jointing part of the hook 11c. The board 18 is attached at the above mentioned position by tightening by a fixing bolt 22 for a cutter 15 together with it.
