    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance functional performance of a prime mover driven Stirling machine. SOLUTION: A Stirling machine is provided with a prime mover 1 and a gas cycle part 2 executing a gas cycle by rotative force given by the prime mover 1, and the gas cycle part 2 comprises a plurality of cylinder chambers C1-C3 executing exhaustion and suction of a working gas according to operation of pistons, a gas communication path 9 for communicating the cylinder chambers C1-C3 with each other in a state wherein a regenerating heat exchanger 10 is interposed between the cylinder chambers C1-C3 and heat input/output devices 11, 12, 13 for executing heat input and heat output to and from the cylinder chambers C1-C3. In this case, piston phase difference relation among the cylinder chambers C1-C3 is regulated, and rotational speed of the prime mover 1 and rotational force of the prime mover 1 given to the gas cycle part 2 are regulated independently and heat input/output status of the heat input/output devices 11, 12, 13 is regulated at target heat input/output status.

SOLUTION: A Stirling cycle and a reverse Stirling cycle are carried out at a gas cycle portion 2 by an input of power from a prime mover 1 and an input of a waste heat L obtained by a waste heat generator. In an operating condition that the generated power by the Stirling cycle is added to the input power from the prime mover 1, a cold heat and a hot heat are generated by the reverse Stirling cycle. In the above condition, an auxiliary heat source device 14 is provided for inputting an auxiliary heat H which has a temperature higher than the temperature of the waste heat L into the gas cycle portion 2 in addition to the input of the waste heat L.
