PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated electrophotographic photoreceptor that uses, in forming a charge transport layer, non-halogenated mixed solvent containing non-polar solvent that accounts for substantially 40 mass% or more of the total amount of the mixed solvent, as solvent of coating liquid for a charge transport layer, while having excellent wear resistance.SOLUTION: A laminated electrophotographic photoreceptor uses a polycarbonate resin as a binder resin for a charge transport layer. The polycarbonate resin is formed of a repeating structural unit represented by the following formula (I) and a repeating structural unit represented by the following formula (II), and the mole fraction of the repeating structural unit represented by the formula (I) relative to the total amount of the binder resin is 30 to 90 mol%. The mass ratio of a charge transport agent in the charge transport layer relative to the binder resin is set to be not more than 50/100.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of suppressing a transfer memory to suppress occurrence of image defects in an image forming apparatus including a DC voltage application-type charging unit employing a contact charging system and using a positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor; and to provide an image forming apparatus including the positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor as an image carrier.SOLUTION: A positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer having a single layer structure formed on a conductive substrate, and is used in an image forming apparatus including a DC voltage application-type charging unit employing a contact charging system. A 1H-indene-1-ylidenemalononitrile derivative having a specific structure is incorporated in the photosensitive layer as an electron transport material.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor with improved electric characteristics and wear resistance, adapted to compact and high-speed electrophotographic process, and an image forming apparatus including the electrophotographic photoreceptor as an image carrier.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor is formed by arranging a photosensitive layer containing a charge generating material, a charge transport material, and a binder resin via an undercoat layer or directly on a conductive substrate. The top surface layer in the photosensitive layer contains, as a binder resin, polycarbonate resin having a repeating unit represented by formula (I).

The photosensitive layer contains at least a charge generating agent, a charge transporting agent, and a binder resin; the binder resin contains a polyarylate resin having a repeating unit represented by the following general formula (I).
