Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for computer aided landmark determination for use in arthroscopic surgery comprising decomposing video stream associated with a field of view; determining an anatomical region based on the decomposed video stream; identifying an anatomical joint within the anatomical region; tracking a position of a surgical tool within the field of view; determining a location for a landmark on the anatomical joint based at least in part on the position of the surgical tool; and displaying, on a monitor, the landmark superimposed on the anatomical joint.
