    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the lengthwise elasticity with an infiltration of a rubber material by twisting three or more of strands in which raw strand groups of two twisted strands are twisted mutually with single raw strands different in the diameter per strand to form a steel cord. CONSTITUTION:Two raw strands 4 are S-twisted to form strand groups 5 which are S twisted with single raw strands 6 with the diameter thereof 1.2-2 times larger than the raw strand 4 to form a strand 7. Three or four of the strands 7 thus obtained are Z-twisted to form a steel cord 8. The steel cord 8 is excellent in the rubber infiltration rate (rubber infiltration sectional area/rubber infiltrable sectional area X100), the fatigue resistance and the elasticity modulus as compared with the conventional type.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a steel cord by forming a strand by twisting wires at a specified pitch and in a specified twisting direction, drawing out plural strands while untwisting them at the same pitch and in the reverse twisting direction, and then twisting these by a double twisting machine at the same pitch and in the same twisting direction with the strand. CONSTITUTION:A strand 2 is formed by twisting plural wires at a specified pitch and in specified twisting direction. Plural strands 2 are drawn out by plural delivery machines 13 while being untwisted at the same pitch with twisting pitch of the strands 2. Untwisted plural strands 2 are bundled by an assembling poise 19 and introduced into a double twisting machine 22. The twisting machine 22 twists the strands at the same pitch and in the twisting direction of the strands 2, and a steel cord which is an aggregate of wires of the same direction and the same pitch is formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a steel cord having proper clearances between strands and excellent in fatigue resistance by twisting plural strands twisted at a fixed pitch in the same twisting direction and at the same pitch using a cylindrical stranding machine. CONSTITUTION:A strand is manufactured by left hand lay for instance, four wires of specified diameter at a fixed pitch using a cylindrical stranding machine. Seven bobbins on which the strands are wound are set to the cylindrical stranding machine making them side strands 2 and core strands 3. Under this condition, these are stranded by left hand lay at nearly the same pitch as above, and taken up by a take-up capstan 11, and wound on a reel 12. In this case, reforming as a steel cord 6 is made by an end plate 8, a reforming pin 9, die 10 etc. Consequently, tendency of each wire is remarkably characteristic, and clearance between wires is generated uniformly, and a stable steel cord 6 of nearly parallel stranding free from deformation can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a fine and hard steel wire without breakdowns by installing a wire twisting device between the final die and a die on a specific table, succeedingly installing a twist releasing device, and drawing the wire in drawing for a small diameter hard steel wire. CONSTITUTION:A wire 1 passed through a die 4 among dies positioned on tables from five to one less than the final table of a fine wire continuous drawing device for hard steel wires is wound by a drawing cone 3 and then is twisted by 300-800 rotations/mXmm by a twisting device consisting of an OT roller 5. Next, the twist is released after the wire passes through a twist-stop roller 6 and the wire is wound on a winding reel 8 after drawing by the final die 7. Breakdown percentages of wires are markedly reduced even for hard and fine steel wires with large area percentage reduction.
