Abstract: 9484. Lauder, J. S. May 5. Tyres, pneumatic. -Relates to the application of cylinders to velocipedes for compressing air when running downhill, and to serve as motors to assist propulsion. The compressed air may also be utilized for inflating the tyres. Fig. 14 shows a valve for use when inflating the tyres from the reservoir. The reservoir is fitted with a spring valve 17, which is pushed back when the nozzle 21 is screwed into its socket. The nozzle 21 is formed with right and left handed screws on its ends so as to simultaneously screw into sockets on the reservoir and connecting-tube 24.
