THE CONICAL TRACK ASSEMBLY (5) CAN BE A SERIES OF ASSEMBLED CONICAL SECTIONS OR ONE UNIT WITH VARIED NUMBER OF SERRATIONS IN EITHER A VERTICAL OR SLOPED CONFIGURATION. THIS FLEXIBILITY ALLOWS FOR GREATER COMPATIBILITY WITH THE FEEDSTOCK BEING MILLED.

The conical track assembly (5) can be a series of assembled conical sections or one unit with varied number of serrations in either a vertical or sloped configuration. This flexibility allows for greater compatibility with the feedstock being milled.

Abstract: A process of producing powder rubber having a particle size in the range of between about 50 microns and 180 microns is described. The process removes metal, fiber and other foreign materials from ground used tire rubber particles. The processed used tire rubber particles are embrittled by contact with a cryogenic liquid. The embrittled rubber particles are milled in a conical mill. The comminuted rubber particles exit the conical mill at a temperature in the range of between -15 degrees C and -30 degrees C. The powder rubber produced can vulcanize as easily or even more easily than virgin rubber.
