PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To render a display device such as an electronic book player in a state easily visible and more suitable for carrying. SOLUTION: Information is printed by use of an output head 105 on an electronic paper 200 wound around a winding reel 102 disposed inside the portable display apparatus 100. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel is composed of two glass base plates 10, 20 jointed in parallel with each other. A sustaining electrode 21, a dielectric layer 22, and a protection layer are formed respectively on the glass base plate at one side 20. An address electrode structure in which a plurality of address electrode parts 11a and dielectric layer parts 11b, and a plurality of rib parts 11c are integrally formed of a prescribed metal as a base body and an insulating body formed by oxidizing the metal, are arranged on the surface of the other glass base plate 10 facing the sustaining electrode 21, and fluorescent layers 15, 16, 17 are applied on the groove of the address electrode structure 11. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is provided with a front substrate 10a and a back substrate 20a oppositely disposed with a plurality of discharge cells positioned therebetween. Gas or liquid is sealed between a filter glass 30 provided in front of the plasma display panel and the front substrate 10a. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a projector device and a color synthesizing device which eliminate a need of a color separating optical system to be made simple and small-sized and eliminate a need of mirror adjustment work at the time of manufacturing. SOLUTION: A projector device 1 which irradiates light different by wavelength bands to image generation means 13 and synthesizes and projects emitted light from respective image generation means 13 on a screen is provided with surface light emitting means 11 for surface light emission which emit light having wavelength bands peculiar to themselves respectively and a color synthesizing optical system 12 between which and each surface light emitting means 11 each image generation means 13 is interposed and which synthesizes light which are emitted from respective surface light emitting means 11 and are transmitted through respective image generation means 13. A color synthesizing device 3 is provided with a plurality of surface light emitting means 11 for surface light emission which emit light having wavelength bands peculiar to themselves respectively and the color synthesizing optical system 12 in the vicinity of which each surface light emitting means 11 is placed and which synthesizes light emitted from respective surface light emitting means 11 and are transmitted through respective surface light emitting means 11.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a head therefor each being in a low price and in a low power consumption and not requiring a standby time at printing. SOLUTION: This head for the printer comprises an electronic paper constituted such that an electrode layer is provided on a substrate paper, a plurality of microcapsules are coated on the electrode layer and a transparent overcoat layer is provided on the coated microcapsules. The head further comprises a recording electrode for applying a voltage to the electronic paper in response to an electric signal, an erasing electrode for erasing the data recorded on the electronic paper and a mother electrode for supplying a power source to the electrode layer on the electronic paper. The printer is equipped with at least the above head.

SOLUTION: This stand-by power source circuit of an electronic appliance is provided with a photodetective part 10 for photodetecting an optical signal from an external remote controller, a signal processing part 12 for processing and recognizing the signal photodetected by the part 10, a power source switching part on/off-controlled by the output of the part 12 and a photoelectric transducer 14 for supplying power to the part 10, the part 12 and the power source switching part. The power source switching part is connected between the main power source circuit of the electronic appliance and the external power source.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a field emission type cold-cathode structure that emits electrons with electric field and has taken countermeasures against defective electron emission due to dust or others. SOLUTION: The field emission type cold-cathode structure is formed with a plurality of emitter tips on the base electrode at a prescribed interval, and a gate electrode around each of the plural emitter tips. The base and gate electrodes are insulated electrically through an insulating layer and have the structure of applying a prescribed DC voltage between them. A low-melting point metal layer is provided between the base electrode and the plural emitter tips in this constitution.
Abstract:
The structure consists of a plurality of emitters 105 formed on a base electrode 102. Each emitter has a gate electrode 104 formed around its circumference which is connected to the main electrode 71 by a fusible link 72 which is designed to sever the connection to an individual overloaded emitter while enabling the other emitters to function. The structure is designed for use in a flat screen display device.
