Abstract: Disclosed herein are a photovoltaic module and a photovoltaic system including the photovoltaic module. The photovoltaic module includes a solar cell module having a plurality of solar cells, an inverter to convert DC power from the solar cell module to AC power, a cable to output the AC power from the inverter, and an infrared (IR) communication unit to transmit, at least one of voltage information of the solar cell module, current information of the solar cell module, voltage information of the inverter, and current information of the inverter, to an adjacent first photovoltaic module, an external gateway, or an external IR communication device. Thereby, communication with an external terminal can be easily performed.
