    Abstract: A drain pump for a laundry treating apparatus, comprising: a housing (110) formed to have a cylindrical shape, and configured to accommodate therein washing water introduced through an inlet (113) communicated with a drain pump chamber; a motor configured to transmit a driving force such that an impeller (125) mounted to the housing (110) is rotated; and a circulation opening (111) and a drain opening (112) protruding from an outer circumferential surface of the housing in a tangential direction, forming a moving path of the washing water by being communicated with the housing (110), and spaced apart from each other, wherein the housing (110) is provided with a rib (115) protruding from one end of an inner circumferential surface of the housing (110) towards inside of the housing (110), the rib (115) formed between the circulation opening (111) and the drain opening (112), and wherein the rib guides the washing water to the circulation opening (111) or the drain opening (112) by rotation of the impeller (115) in one direction.
